Abstract
PTS (Pressurised Thermal Shock) phenomenon for nuclear reactor pressure vessels is analysed using finite element models with elastic-plastic formulation, with accent on austenitic cladding of the reactor pressure vessel. It was found that the effect of cladding varies greatly in time as embrittlement of the cladding material due to high irradiation occurs.
