Abstract:
Introduction
The most important advantages of impulse technology in gas shielded metal arc welding are controlled heat in-put, droplet transfer without short circuiting over the entire working range, spatter free welding. Double impulse welding is a relatively new welding method. The difference between impulse and double impulse welding is in wire feed rate. At impulse welding one is constant, while at double impulse welding changing in impulses. The purpose of the investigation was to prove something differences between beads welded by two technologies. For the tests we use robotic welding to eliminate disturbing factors. At beads welded by the double impulse welding we found some advantageous property compared with the beads welded by impulse welding. Beside same heat input better spreading molten pool, deeper penetration, lower and wider bead was the result.
