Abstract:
Cluj/Kolozsvár/Klausenburg retained its outstanding importance among the Transylvanian cities since it delivered the entire tour of the prince nearly twenty times. The emphasis in this study is not on the structure, number or members of the princely household, but on the citizens who participated in their care, who and what task they were assigned between 1630 and 1649. In addition to the 12-member council, the Centumvires, or hundreds of people, had the tasks of oat, hay and wine-distribution, and I studied some of their lives and urban career, their names being mentioned in the sources. Besides them, the trumpets and the copper drummers played a part in the representation, and in the supply the satellites, the septenaries, the fishermen, the peasants and of course the many charioteers. The number of people involved in this work ranged from 60 to 180 in the two decades.
